Diaper Update

Just wanted to give another shout out to all of you who had a part in the surprise truckload of diapers dumped at our house last August. After nearly 8 months, we still have two huge stacks! I'm starting to think this may be like the oil Elijah gave the widow, that kept replenishing itself.

A huge thank you also goes to Eva, Keagan and Anna for the bags and boxes of clothes they've given Rach & Zekers, and to our wonderful family who has given much more than I can possibly go into in one post for all three of the kids. We're so grateful - God has given us much more than we deserve!

Um...wow! I'm sure glad our kids are out of diapers!

But I remember those days well, however. And we used CLOTH diapers. You know, you had to rinse them out by hand in the toilet. Then put them to soak in the diaper pail where they would sit and soak until it was time to dump a batch into the washer.

Ah, yes, the good old days.

today at church rach said the funniest thing to me!

rach: "well, we ate breakfast bars this morning"
Me: "oh really?"
rach: "yeah, but mommy told me not to tell anyone, but she doesnt know any better cuz i can tell whoever i want. mommy doesnt know what's best sometimes."

maybe that shouldnt be funny, but i couldnt stop laughing...a three year old telling me that she knows better than her mommy. (of course rachel went on to tell ellen and i that you were 8 years old and daddy was about 5 so maybe the age difference isnt so big?) haha

Gary & ~d, I guess I should count my blessings that I live in the age of disposable diapers, although the cost (if we didn't have our free tuckload of them!) of keeping 2 in diapers is close to $70 / month, which makes the cloth thing a little tempting. Dee, I think we need to have a little chat about the joys of GIVING. Some of us actually take pleasure in being able to share our leftover diapers. :-)

Marfin, I live in fear of the stories Rachel tells at church. If she keeps telling her SS teacher that Mommy spanks her just for the fun of it, we'll be out of a job by this time next year!! I'm just glad she wasn't here this evening to witness the "pasta salad dump."

Hey if you have any extra diapers at the end of this whole thing... my crawl space is pretty wet and they might be usefull in helping me dry it up a little bit... Just a thought

NOW that is a mound of diapers! But how wonderful to have your own *lifetime* supply.
Shan is working on potty training Shiloh. Right now she is content to sit on her chairfor 10-15 minutes and just smile...well it's a start.
I see a *new* anna has posted...so I'm anna (DR)
