FruitaBu

The obsession has reached ridiculous levels in our house.

It all began with a few ads on TV in June. We thought, hey, fruit roll-ups that are actually 100% fruit sound pretty good. We began looking for these boxes of organic "smooshed fruit" to no avail. We searched online and found that this product is only available in certain selected stores, none of which were anywhere close to us. So . . . since we didn't want to waste $10 in gas just to buy it, we ordered it online and instead spent about $10 on shipping and handling - I'm not kidding! It was something like $11 for 3 boxes of the stuff, and we eded up paying $21 all told. The kids love nothing more than visiting UTube to watch FruitaBu ads, and Danny sings the little jingle all day long. A few of us have actually dreamed about the stuff.

It's sick.

But, I'm happy to announce that our order arrived yesterday, and it's eveything we anticipated and more.

I'm just not sure I want to pay another $21 for it. I mean, we could buy a Disney DVD for that. So we're thinking about rationing it: each child receives 3 inches per day. That way it should last for the rest of the summer.

Hi Charity,
Just stopped by to see what you were up to. I checked for any stores in NY for your fruit strips but there aren't any near me either.
Your renovations look great. Wish I could see them in person.
When is the baby due?
Love,
Mindy

never heard of the stuff. in fact, when i saw the title, i thought the post had something to do with kari bou and a fruity mess :P

you could always go to the customer service counter of your favorite grocery store and ask if they would consider carrying the product...

Yep, the lady that runs the health food section at our grocery is always happy to stock customer requested items.

Those sound really yummy. I bet our kids would like 'em, too.

Mindy - the baby is due October 12, so 11 more weeks to go!

D - thanks for the suggestion; Danny would be so excited if we could get them here in town. :-)

They have them at Krogers by us. Have Danny bring the family down some night. We will get some smooshed fruit and then go for a picnic supper, a boat ride and swim on Caesers Creek Lake.

Charity,

Dad and I found them at Health Foods Unlimited for $5.39. That is one of the stores he bakes for. Just say the word and he can pick them up for you. There were about 5 flavors. You can buy individual packages for 79 cents.
